• be careful with verb endings
• mi --> a mí
• the news = las noticias
• the business = el negocio
• a company = una compañía
• hace : present or preterit
• hacía : imperfect
• es bueno que… : use subjunctive
• novio = groom, (boyfriend)
• novia = bride, (girlfriend)
• telling a story = contar el cuento (NOT decir)
• the rule = la regla
• only use the usted form if specifically told
• candy = los dulces
• mom = mama (only use “madre” if asked for “mother”)
• hand her the papers = entrégaselos
